• Normal-seeming town
  • Other end of the town is a giant steel wall
    • towers 30’ into the air
    • made from overlapping steel plates
      • in the storm below, there are Demons, Devils, fiends etc.
    • Beyond that gate is the only way out of the storm
  • Most of the city is personnel for the wall
• We need to go beyond the wall.
• lots of guards
  • increasing the closer to the wall we get

  • some places use magic to connect them, others not

• Outside the wall, the wall seems to be charred.

• After about walking for about 2 hrs., we see a random hotel door
  • Door opens into a long hallway, lit by a lantern on either side
    • slowly opens into a room, like a hotel lobby.
      • dragonborn sitting behind the counter, covered in bandages, including over an eye

• Vyra : “what is this place?”
  • Dragonborn: “The Lab”
• Myrkan asks about getting the Black Goop removed
  • told to talk to the head director; she should be able to remove it.

  • Dragonborn stands to question about Head Director, leaving a small pool of blood on the seat
    • Myrkan wipes down the seat
• Vergil pulls Bron aside and asks if maybe Vyra should take his last name.

  • Vergil put down his katana, handbag, etc.….

  • Rest of the party follows suit

  • There was a small explosion

      • if mixed correctly, one can drink it to get the effect, or throw it to get alchemist fire

• Lead thru clean, hospital-style hallways, to meeting room 5.
  • Meeting Room 5 is a cottage-style room
    • couches around a table
  • Ringmaster, older Amethyst dragonborn (Myrkan’s mom), and Alania (otter) all sit around the table
    • they seem to be mid-conversation about an ancient war, 3000 years ago, when the wall was built
      • war fought between the demons living below the storm and those who lived above.
        • demons didn’t like that they couldn’t keep pillaging the war
        • Lots of alchemists during the time and like/d throwing Alchemist fire down
          • mixed with acid
          • An unknown alchemist at the time, who fought on the front lines with alchemist fires.
• Evelyn asked Myrkan about his adventures.
  • Myrkan shows the limbs
    • “Have you not gotten enough iron?”

  • Ringmaster was told by God of Fair play that redacted parts were not allowed.

• Lead to a hospital wing lined with beds
  • Explained the
    • primary goal – give extraordinary powers to ordinary creatures
    • secondary goal – extend the lifespan of the average creature
  • why people with magical powers?
    • average person finds it overpowering
      • hopes that people with innate powers will be able to handle it
        • we also piqued Ringmaster’s interest.
  • Different people have different places for the injection
    • from inner thigh to underside of tongue
    • magic jeweller’s loop will tell Ringmaster where.
      • variation of abjuration and conjuration magic
  • Rya goes first, Vergil, Myrkan, Vyra,
  • vial with purple liquid with swirls of blue
    • apparently tastes like blueberry?
  • Upon injection, searing pain throughout the entire body.
• Results
  • Rya – place where neck meets back
    • +1 wisdom for next hour
    • temp blind in one eye for next 6 hrs.
      • disadvantage on perception
    • Normal sight functions as true sight for the next 6 hrs.
  • Vergil – inner thigh
    • Mind shatters with the urge to follow the Ringmaster in whatever they want (no time limit)
    • Temp hit points equal to con-stat (no time limit)
    • Random spark power for duration (Eye of the weave) for the next 1 hr
  • Myrkan – jaw muscle
    • regain 1 spell slot or class feature used
    • -2 penalty for strength or dexterity based rolls for the next 6 hrs
    • resistance to bludgeoning damage for 24 hrs
  • Vyra – Forearm
    • Speak with animal and speak with plants for 5 hrs
    • Body begins to shutter, and collapses. Paralysed for 12 hrs
    • resistance to poison for 5 days
  • One Eye – in Eye
    • Speak with animal and speak with plants for 5 hrs
    • Benefit of potion of hill giant strength 5 hrs
    • Random insight into any non-party member you touch for 24 hrs
• When the product is finished, we get a free sample/dose
• While the spell wears off of Vyra:
  • Rya looks at the various planes and tries to see if the Ringmaster is a shapeshifter (she’s not)
  • Vergil looks at the weave and watches how his misty step works.
    • Tries Rage – nothing happens
    • Tries Giant’s Might – room too small to grow
  • Bron comes in, asked what happened
    • Myrkan explains
• Ringmaster comes back in to make notes
• Ringmaster wants to hire us (500g/ea)
